Find/Reply to listings
- Search
Depending on which category you find yourself in, certain fields precede the title of the listing ('Age in dating or 'To Rent' in Property for example.) Under the title of the listing you will find the following information : Zone / Neighborhood / Category / Subcategory (note that the non-required fields don't appear).
If you are interested in one of the listings, you can click on its title to look at the rest of the ad. On this new page you will find all the details, including the contact information, a scaled-down version of the primary photo, as well as the user's comments.
At the bottom of the page, links allow you to select the listing (in this case you will receive an email with the contents of the listing) and send it to a friend or receive all similar listings placed in the same area each day in your inbox.
To make navigation easier, the route you have come to get where you are is always inscribed as a line at the top of the page. It shows you how many pages you are from the VivaStreet homepage. Just click on one of the sections.
- Direct Emails / Anonymous emails
On each listing page, you can email the advertiser in several ways. One is via chat (see below) - the other is by sending an email. To combat spam, we have developed an anonymous email system which saves you from revealing your identity thereby preventing spam hitting your inbox. We create an anonymous email address for each VivaStreet ad (eg. 123456@vivastreet.com.) When you send an email to one of these anonymous email addresses, it goes through our servers before being redirected to the true address. It's as simple as that.
But that's not all...
You can also do the same. Our 'secure response' system will generate an anonymous email address for you when you reply to a listing.
Flag a listing/Flagged listings

Each time you feel a listing is out of place or does not hold enough information, it should not be on the site. We want to make sure everyone enjoys their VivaStreet experience - with all users expressing themselves but with respect to others. Allowing our users to control the content of the site seemed to us the best way to keep everyone happy.
Having said that, no system is perfect and we know that this system might be open to abuse. While we try and perfect this system (ideas welcome) please bear with us… So, if you want to flag a listing, do so responsibly. To prevent over-flagging, each user can flag each ad only once and a maximum of two times per day.
- How To Flag
At the bottom of the page for each listing, you will find a yellow flag symbol with the different options :
Scam: Click here if you suspect the advert is a scam.
Expired: Click here if you have a feeling the listing is no longer available.
Miscategorized: Click here if the listing was placed in the wrong category or zone.
- What will happen to flagged listings?
Once a listing has been flagged a certain amount of times, it will be suspended from the site until it has been examined by our team. If you think that the listing should be removed, let us know about the particular listing. Before the listing is completely removed, the advertiser is able to modify their ad but the VivaStreet team always has the final word.
Post a listing
- How to place an ad
Click on "Post Your Free Ad" at the top of any page and follow the instructions. Be sure to place your listing in the correct category and area as we are a local site and cover all post codes.
To attach photos, click the button and you will be asked where about you store your photos on the computer (don't panic though, we do not have access to your computer!) Then you simply return to the photo page before clicking "Continue with this ad".
If you have used VivaStreet already - you are now done. You will receive a confirmation email and you don't need to do anything else - your listing is already on the site. However if, this is your first time, we need your real email address and a password. If you are a VivaStreet user but are not recognized automatically, you can enter your email and password directly on the homepage (or register an email address and password), prior to placing a listing.
- Our scanning system (text and photos)
In addition to our flagging system, all the listings are automatically scanned. Each listing containing certain pre-selected words is examined by our team before being published.
If you see your listing published on VivaStreet but without photos, it's simply because they have not been reviewed yet. The operation can take a little time and we apologise for any delay. You will receive a confirmation email once your photos are published.
- How to attach chat to your listing
Chat is automatically included in your listing. It's up to you afterwards to decide whether you want to change your status in the top right corner of your screen from 'on' to 'off' or vice-versa.
- How to manage your ads
Each email we send you to publish each listing contains a link which allows you to modify or delete that particular listing. The homepage, when you are logged-in, has a series of links on the left under 'Your Listings.' Click on a particular listnig here to modify / delete it.
- Important
You agree not to post the same item or service in more than one classified category or forum, or in more than one metropolitan area.
Posting a listing in the 18+ section
- You need to be over 18 to post in these categories.
- Follow the normal posting process taking extra care in selecting the correct category.

The ads in this category also go through our usual scanning process and therefore you might experience a delay in posting while your ad is awaiting moderation.
- Although you are posting in the 18+ category, your ad must be suitable for publishing. Our moderation team will remove any ads that are too sexually explicit or might be offensive to other users. We also reserve the right to amend the wording of your ad before publishing in order to comply with the above rule. Please ensure that the wording of your ad is suitable for publishing on Vivastreet.
- Feel free to upload photos to your ad. We encourage all our users to do so, as it is often the most effective way of making your ad to stand out. Nevertheless, keep in mind that as with the wording of your ad, we will not publish pictures which are too visually/sexually explicit or might be offensive to other users. Any pictures of such nature will be removed by our moderation team regardless of their artistic nature.
- We will not allow any sort of paid adult services offered/sought in the free classifieds categories.
- Escorts & Erotic Massages category has been designed specifically for these adult services and no other. The postings advertising any sexual or other services will be automatically deleted by our moderation team without refund in accordance with our terms of use.
