Design is in your blood!

It must be, you are either born with it, or like me, you were most certainly not!

The joy of the job is knowing you are solving complex problems through the excitement of innovative design.

Sometimes you will want to work collaboratively with your colleagues. Working together to understand the multifaceted problems facing websites and mobile applications for a specific industry sector. Other times you will want to take the lead. You will have a deep understand of the issues some designs suffer, and on your own, you can create bespoke, modern looking designs to rival competitors.

Sketch, Photoshop, Adobe CC suite, should be in your wheelhouse. They are like second nature to you and allow your work to be easily understood by your colleagues and visa-versa.

UX, UI, UC are not chemical symbols waiting to be discovered, they are the definitions of your mindset. You will be able to take on projects from the very start, building out a case-study, completing the required research, and really getting under the skin of your client. From this you will be able to produce stunning looking products, but with a key understanding of how this will translate over to the developers for them to bring your designs to life.

So, what’s this role all about then?

Designing. You will be creating new and existing user centric designs across of range of platforms, so a background in both web and app design is going to be needed. You will be proving your worth to your clients, through meetings and workshops, advising them on the best design practices so that they can get the most out of their products through your expert knowledge. Sketches, storyboards, user journeys, ideas, concepts, wireframes, prototypes, sticky notes, sticky notes everywhere!!!

The journey doesn’t stop once you have passed your designs over to the development team. I said journey, and there is still some way to go, after all, this is your creation, you want to see it through to the end.
