At Vivastreet, we recognise the significant and often unique challenges that sex workers face when it comes to accessing mental health and wellbeing support. The stigma surrounding sex work can make it difficult for people in the adult industry to find care that is understanding, inclusive, and free from judgment.
That’s why we are delighted to announce our partnership with Pineapple Support – a leading organisation that has been providing mental health services for sex workers and adult industry professionals since 2018.
Together, we’re working to promote well-being, reduce stigma, and ensure that everyone in the adult community has access to safe and compassionate mental health care.
Pineapple Support Society is a free mental health and therapy service for anyone working in the online or offline adult industry – no matter their gender, ethnicity, background, age, or sexual orientation.
The organisation has an ever-growing team of sex-worker-friendly, kink-aware therapists who offer both online therapy and in-person sessions. Pineapple Support operates 24/7, providing vital mental health support, professional counselling, and emotional wellbeing resources tailored to the realities of sex work and adult content creation.
For many in the industry, Pineapple Support is more than a service – it’s a lifeline.
The name “Pineapple” was chosen for a simple but powerful reason: it’s one of the most commonly used safe words in the United States. Just as a safe word creates a boundary and offers protection, Pineapple Support exists to provide a safe space for those who need help – a place where you can stop, breathe, and receive care without fear of judgment.
In other words, Pineapple Support is the adult industry’s safe word.
Pineapple Support was founded by Leya Tanit, a British performer who was deeply affected by the number of industry-related suicides reported in late 2017 and early 2018. After attending the XBIZ and AVN Awards, Leya realised that something needed to change – performers needed access to mental health care designed for their world.
From that moment, Pineapple Support was born.
Since launching in 2018, the organisation has grown rapidly thanks to its dedicated directors, volunteers, therapists, and ambassadors. Today, Pineapple Support helps thousands of people across the globe with therapy sessions, crisis support, and wellness programmes designed specifically for those working in adult entertainment.
Pineapple Support’s mission is rooted in compassion, inclusion, and empowerment. Their goals include:
At Vivastreet, we share these values wholeheartedly. Our top priority is – and always will be – the safety and well-being of our customers and the wider sex work community. We are proud to sponsor Pineapple Support and stand beside them as they continue to provide essential services to those who need them most.
Pineapple Support is a registered non-profit organisation, meaning every donation goes directly towards therapy sessions, crisis support, and mental health outreach for those working in the adult industry. Sponsorships and donations play a crucial role in helping Pineapple Support continue its mission to ensure that no performer ever feels alone or helpless.
At Vivastreet, we believe that mental health care is a human right – not a privilege. By supporting Pineapple Support, we’re helping to build a safer, healthier, and more compassionate adult industry where everyone can access the help they deserve.
