However, if this isn\u2019t possible, you should protect yourself and others by working safely.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#generalsafetyguidance\">General Safety Guidance<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#takehygieneprecautions\">Take Hygiene Precautions<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#usepersonalprotectiveequipment(ppe)\">Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#supporttestandtrace\">Support Test and Trace<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Government has issued advice for people working in close contact with others at the present time, setting out the safety measures they should follow to stop the spread of coronavirus. The full guidance can be found<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/working-safely-during-coronavirus-covid-19\/close-contact-services\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To make things a little easier for you, below we\u2019ve highlighted some of the key measures contained within the guidance.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"generalsafetyguidance\"><b>General safety guidance<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check with clients when booking an appointment that they \u2013 or those they have been in contact with recently &#8211; do not have symptoms of coronavirus<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do not see any client that is displaying symptoms of coronavirus, such as a continuous cough or high temperature<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do not offer services that involve the highest risk of droplet transmission from the nose and mouth, for example through kissing or oral sex without protection. This means avoiding services and positions that involve prolonged face-to-face contact with a client<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you or any of your household develop symptoms, please follow the Government guidance on self-isolating and applying for a test<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"takehygieneprecautions\"><b>Take\u00a0hygiene precautions<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sanitise your hands before and after every meeting<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ask your client to sanitise their hands before and after the service \u2013 we\u2019d recommend establishing a \u00a0 \u00a0sanitisation point at entry, e.g. hand sanitiser<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have tissues available for clients, and follow Government guidelines for sneezing, coughing and disposing of them appropriately<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use disposable sheets, or change and wash them after every meeting<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensure ventilation of rooms before and after each booking \u2013 ensure a minimum of 25 minutes between each client, to give time for cleaning and ventilation of spaces<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensure staggered arrival times so that clients do not have to wait together in the same area<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Clean and sanitise any hard surfaces (or surfaces you and the client may touch) after every booking e.g. door handles, surfaces in bathrooms and rails in corridors or stairwells<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1633 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/vivastreetuk.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/take-hygiene-precautions.png\" alt=\"Man washing hands for protection from COVID-19\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vivastreet.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/take-hygiene-precautions.png 1080w, https:\/\/www.vivastreet.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/take-hygiene-precautions-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/www.vivastreet.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/take-hygiene-precautions-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.vivastreet.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/take-hygiene-precautions-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/www.vivastreet.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/take-hygiene-precautions-600x338.png 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"usepersonalprotectiveequipment(ppe)\"><b>Use personal protective equipment (PPE)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Government guidance urges everyone working in close contact services to use PPE, where social distancing is not possible. This helps to reduce the transmission of the virus where sex workers may be exposed to an individual for an extended period of time. The Government recommends:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wearing a clear visor that covers the face and provides a barrier between the wearer and the client from respiratory droplets \u2013 there is no obligation for the client to wear this, or other face coverings if you are<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If using a disposable visor, dispose of it in a safe way and wash your hands thoroughly before touching your face<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If using a reusable visor, sanitise it in a safe way, where you do not come into contact with any of the droplets that may be on the visor, and again wash your hands thoroughly after<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wear gloves during any meeting, again minimising the risk of transmission<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Close fitting goggles may also be used as an alternative to a clear visor, but only when worn with a Type II face mask<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1629 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/vivastreetuk.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Use-personal-preotective-equipment.png\" alt=\"Woman wearing protective face mask for COVID-19\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vivastreet.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Use-personal-preotective-equipment.png 1080w, https:\/\/www.vivastreet.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Use-personal-preotective-equipment-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/www.vivastreet.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Use-personal-preotective-equipment-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.vivastreet.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Use-personal-preotective-equipment-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/www.vivastreet.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Use-personal-preotective-equipment-600x338.png 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"supporttestandtrace\"><b>Support test and trace<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Government guidelines require all close contact premises, such as hairdressers and spas, to keep customer contact details for up to four weeks for contact tracing purposes. This means that if you or a client develops symptoms of coronavirus, those you\u2019ve had contact with can be tested and their contacts traced to stop the spread of the disease.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Government requests the following information is collected as part of the Test and Trace guidelines:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The name of the customer or visitor. If there is more than one person, then you can record the name of the \u2018lead member\u2019 of the group and the number of people in the group<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A contact phone number for each customer or visitor, or for the lead member of a group of people<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Date of visit, arrival time and, where possible, departure time<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Government regulations now stipulate that close contact premises must collect the details of customers and visitors. This includes:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Advising visitors that this information will only be used where necessary to help stop the spread of COVID-19<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The accuracy of the information provided will be the responsibility of the individual who provides it. Venue operators do not have to verify an individual\u2019s identity for NHS Test and Trace purposes<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If a customer or visitor says that they do not want their details shared for the purposes of NHS Test and Trace, they can choose to opt out, and if they do so venue operators should not share their information used for booking purposes with NHS Test and Trace<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019d encourage all our users and their customers to also download the NHS COVID-19 app, which was recently released.
