LALIQUE 'EPSOM' CAR MASCOT of a straining horse aiming to win the Derby at that event! This is one of the rarest of all the 28 Lalique car mascot types designed & produced by Rene Lalique in the inter-war period known as the Art Deco movement. The last one to come up at auction (in the USA in 2013 made near to $70,000 and was not as nice as this one and it did not have a base mount either). This has a very slight ameythst tint to it when held up to sunlight. It is Signed in intaglio 'R. Lalique' with 'France'. This is perfect apart from the usual correctly grinding out of the botom of the base slightly effecting the signature (this was done in period by the experts at Breves London Galleries so as to be able to mount it on a base). For more on this and the price required please make contact. We have one of the best selections of Lalique car mascots/hood ornaments, desk pieces etc. in Europe...
