£13,503 - £16,559 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications

PERSON PROFILE

Mental Health Support Worker

1. Qualifications

•NVQ level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) OR a willingness to work towards relevant qualifications.

•Certificate in Community Mental Health or WRAP training would be beneficial but is not an essential requirement.

2. Experience

•A minimum of one year’s experience of working in a health care setting

•Experience and understanding of mental health issues(as a worker, carer or service user)

•Proven ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a wide range of groups, including partner providers, internal teams and external agencies

3.Skills, Knowledge and Attributes

•Sound understanding of social care needs of those recovering from mental health issues

•Understanding of diversity and ability to promote anti-discriminatory practice and equal opportunities

•Able to work alone and unsupervised in a range of settings

•Basic literacy and numeric skills to ensure the accurate completion of individual support plans and records

•Basic IT skills

•Ability to provide practical support with day-to-day activities

•Good verbal communication skills

•Able to work flexibility, including evening and weekend work if required

•Able to travel within the geographical work area in an effective manner (advert will specify if car owner/user essential).
