We are recruiting a Production Planner to support a blue chip client based in Telford. The Production Planner is responsible for effectively planning all manufacturing operations supporting the customer's schedules and managing variations in demand and capacity.The main duties will be:- To understand and interpret MRP (Material Resource Planning) in order to schedule manufacturing jobs in a timely manner according to the capacity available for the necessary departments and prioritising as required- To constantly review the production plan in line with customer demand. Maintain a flexible approach and amend as necessary to meet contingencies arising- Ensure Customer Service is maintained to the highest standard, proactively have discussions with production cells to ensure deliveries are on time- Monitor EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) errors and achieve resolution- Track and communicate daily, weekly, monthly loading of production cells- Manage capacity for maintenance, tool changes and planned down time- Work with the material handlers to ensure raw material is at a point of use when required- Run WIP/SWIP (Work in progress/Stocked Work In Progress) model to achieve business plan for inventory- Use a lean approach stream line processes and reduce WIP- Facilitate and present planning updates to wider team and management- Key SAP user and point of contact for other SAP usersThe successful candidate will have the following skills:- Strong background in using SAP for Planning and Production (or similar systems, Baan, Oracle)- MES (Manufacturing Execution System) experience and shop floor reporting- Manufacturing and/or Automotive sector experienceExcellent Microsoft skills (Excel VLookups, Data Sharing)- Confident to deliver a presentation to customers and colleagues- MRP and/or ERP- Good interpersonal skills with "hands on" problem solving expertise- Team player and promote a team approach to problem solving- Work collaboratively to achieve project/company goalsIn re
