Amore Complex Care are looking for fun and outgoing support workers to support a young lady in her 20s, who has a diagnosis of autism and is non-verbal. She loves music, and arts and crafts, and has a busy routine which involves being out in the community.

Meet the person you’ll be supporting:

Who am I? I am a young lady in my 20s, I have just graduated college and will be attending a new day centre with my staff.

What activities do I do? I like to work on new skills and love to bake and help my staff to prepare my meals. I love to go out on walks and get snacks for a film night. I enjoy going to the trampoline park, sensory room, bowling and to the cinema. I would like to try new activities with my team!

What challenges do I have? I have a diagnosis of autism, and I am nonverbal, this can impact my behaviour, and I can sometimes become frustrated. I need a staff team that will be understanding and patient with me. I use Makaton to communicate and will show you what I want whilst you are still learning my signs.

What types of people do I get along with? People with good communication skills, and will support me in activities. People that will be patient with me and encourage me to work on my independence and access the community.
