Description

Mandarin is an incredibly useful language to learn and, contrary to many people’s expectations, can be relatively straightforward to pick up. Although it is a tonal language, the grammar is much simpler than European languages. Mandarin is one of the main languages spoken in the world and it’s an official language of the United Nations. China is rapidly becoming a major world economic power and a knowledge of Mandarin can provide an invaluable edge in one’s career.

• Adults - Learning Chinese is useful for leisure or business and allows you to have a much easier and richer experience when travelling to Mandarin-speaking countries. For business people speaking Mandarin gives you a huge advantage when tapping into the Chinese market. It gives you greater flexibility and allows you to form personal connections that can make a difference in the speed and effectiveness of your negotiations.

• Children - Learning Mandarin from a young age offers the best possible preparation for the future. A knowledge of Mandarin, as opposed to European languages that are commonly taught in schools, such as French and German, will give your child a unique advantage. Children are able to start learning Mandarin from age 4.

I am a native Chinese speaker and I have 18 years of teaching experience in Mandarin to children from age 4 to 14, both through one-to-one tutoring and classroom teaching. I have also taught adults conversational Mandarin. My tutoring covers tones and pronunciation (pinyin system), daily conversation and Chinese characters (if desired). I am DBS checked.

I live in Woking and my rates are £18 for a 30 min lesson and £36 for an hour's lesson.
