I’ve reached a point in life where I’m less interested in ticking boxes and much more interested in meeting interesting people and seeing where genuine chemistry takes us.

I’m married, although my relationship has changed considerably over the years, and I’m interested in meeting a like-minded woman who is open to something different. I’m not searching for another conventional relationship or trying to manufacture an instant connection. I’d much rather meet someone, talk, laugh, discover what we have in common and let attraction develop naturally.

I’m definitely more spontaneous than organised when it comes to life.

Give me an unexpected weekend away, a night dancing with friends, a walk that somehow ends at a pub, swimming in a freezing Irish lake or simply deciding on Friday that we should do something interesting on Saturday. Some of the best experiences happen because somebody simply says, “Why not?”

Physical attraction and intimacy matter to me too. There’s something wonderful about meeting someone where the attraction is mutual and you both know it. But chemistry for me isn’t just physical.

I’m attracted to curious people. Someone who can have a serious conversation about business, technology, life or what makes people tick — and five minutes later be laughing about something completely mundane.

Tell me what you’re passionate about. Your career, a business idea, fitness, travel, something you’ve always wanted to try — I’m interested in what makes someone come alive.

Ultimately, what I’m looking for is surprisingly simple: shared interests, conversation, laughter, affection, attraction and intimacy.

Someone comfortable being herself, who enjoys being wanted and isn’t afraid of wanting someone in return. Someone with a spontaneous side who might occasionally tempt me outside my comfort zone.

I don’t have a carefully constructed picture of who that woman should be.

I’d much rather meet her and find out.
