The charity WORLDwrite is delighted to be screening ‘Women: a success story’ on International Women's Day at Leytonstone Library, a 2 minute walk from Leytonstone tube station on Church Lane, London E11 1HG.
‘Women: a success story’ – a liberating tale for a new generation, documents the great advances made by women over the past 100 years. The film confronts contemporary myths and prejudices that suggest the world is awash with predators, misogyny and discrimination. Forged as a timeline, interwoven with archive, forty women give us a fresh perspective, tell us we have nothing to fear and can do anything. From across the generations, they share their life stories, what they overcame and what’s changed. We learn of women in the cotton mills, life during the war, the 1984 miners’ strike, from outdoor loos, terry nappies and illegal abortions to pre-marital sex, freedom and making it in what was once a man’s world.

We hope you can join us on Friday 8th March at 7.15pm at the Leytonstone Library, for a unique opportunity to see the film. There will be a Q&A after the screening with Ceri Dingle, the director of the film.
