Step 1: Confirm you’re over 18
When you open search results in one of the adult categories, you’ll see a message explaining that the page contains adult content.

Step 2: Start your age check
Adult images are blurred until you’ve completed your age check.
On blurred 18+ content, you’ll see a green ‘Unlock’ button.
👉 Tap it to begin the age check process.
You can also begin the age check process by clicking on ‘Confirm you are 18+’ on the red banner at the top of the screen.
🚨If you’d rather not do the check, you can go back to the search results. Adult images will stay blurred, but you can still browse adverts.
Step 3: Agree to the terms
Before you continue, agree to the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy to start the age check.
👉 Tap ‘I Agree – Confirm you’re 18+ Check Age Now (full access) to begin the age check process.
Step 4: Launch the age check process
A screen prompts you to log in or access as a guest, with a “Verify Now for Full Access” button powered by Incode.
You’ll be prompted to “Verify Now for Full Access”.

Step 5: Continue and consent to proceed
The age check uses your phone’s camera. If you’re on a computer, scan the QR code with your phone to continue there.

You’ll need to allow camera access for the age check process. Incode only uses this data to estimate your age and doesn’t store your image or personal information.
Step 6: Take a quick selfie

🚨Remove glasses, hats or anything else that covers your face. You’ll be prompted if your face isn’t lined up correctly.
Step 7: Save your result (optional)
Once your age is successfully confirmed, you’ll see the ‘Age Check Successful’ screen.

If the selfie check doesn’t work
If facial age estimation is unsuccessful, you’ll be offered the chance to verify your age using Digital ID.
Sometimes the selfie can’t confirm your age, for example, if the lighting is poor or the estimate is too close to 18 to be certain. In that case, you can use an official photo ID instead:
- UK or non-UK passport
- UK or EU photocard driving licence
- National identity card
- Residence document
- Voter ID card
Follow the on-screen steps to photograph your ID, then take a quick selfie so Incode can check that it matches.
If you’re unable to prove you’re over 18, you won’t be able to access restricted content – but you can still:

We recommend choosing an SFW image as your main image when posting your advert. This will ensure your advert is unblurred on search results pages for 100% of users.
If you don’t select one, no problem; so long as you have at least one SFW image in your advert, we’ll choose it for you. If, however, you have no SFW images on your advert, your main image will be blurred by default to users who have not confirmed that they’re 18+.
